Why Do We Do It?

Why does My Houston Wellness offer health and wellness events at no cost?

All of our providers are doing “Public Service for Public Relations.” That is, we are donating our time to educate the community about ways to improve their health. Over the years, we’ve learned that if you do good work for people (and they get a chance to meet you), that they will remember you when they need you.

Is everything no cost?

The only providers that charge to be at the event are massage therapists. We’ve tried working with massage therapists that didn’t charge, but found they were unreliable. The therapists we use now do offer a discount and are some of the best around Houston.

All other providers are donating their time, and are there strictly to educate and entertain. You are responsible for promoting the event to your company or group, and to provide chairs and tables.

Do I have to use your providers?

We do run into companies that have providers they have used in the past, and they want to include them in the upcoming event. Usually, there’s not a problem with that at all. We do not charge providers either, so we will contact them and find out their interest. We do want you to have a good event – if they are unwilling to follow our criteria, we’ll let you know so that you can have the best event possible.

You don’t have to use our providers, but we recommend that you do in most cases.

Who are the providers?

We work with many types of providers, including massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, healthy meal providers, yoga instructors, as well as local hospitals (Memorial Hermann, West Houston Medical). Other providers are added based on availability and the amount of space your location can accommodate.

Do you only offer health fairs?

We also offer “lunch and learn” events, bringing in speakers for your group. You provide the attendees and a brown bag lunch (optional), and we provide the speaker. For companies of less than 100 employees, the lunch and learn events often make more sense. You can schedule a series of speakers (1 each month) and improve the overall health and wellness of your group.
